Help TCR Win The Licence!Update: 27th April 2008: A meeting of the RLC (Radio Licensing Committee) was held on the 22nd of April, 5 applications were considered at that meeting and one application was rejected... Our application was not considered in this meeting! So that means at least another month of waiting until the next RLC meeting on the 21st of May. In the mean time we are planning various activities for our members, and please also check out our partner online station Reach launching soon, see the banner below for more info. How you can help: Ofcom published the application forms for all those that have applied for the latest wave of Community Radio licences on their website. They are inviting comments on the applications from members of the public and this is your chance to get in touch with Ofcom and let them know why you think TCR should be given a full time licence. If you would like to do this then visit the ofcom web page by clicking here and use the email address they provide. We very much need your help to do this, the public consultation is a very important part of the application process, and we have to show there is a need for this station in Tamworth. Highlights from August 2007At 12 midnight Friday 31st of August 106.9 TCR FM fell silent as the transmitter was switched off for this year's broadcast. It was an eventful 28 days and we would like to say thank you to everyone who has listened and taken part in the station in any way. We'll be back!  PHOTOS & VIDEO

What is TCR fm? TCR fm is a Restricted Service License (RSL) radio station run by the young people of Tamworth for the young people of Tamworth. RSL means that the station is able to broadcast on FM radio for a maximum of 28 days at a time, twice a year. TCR stands for “Total Choice Radio” The idea behind the station is just that, to give young people total choice of what they do and listen to.
The whole TCR fm team are volunteers of all ages from 13 upwards. We offer training in our studio, and then put it all into practice by broadcasting live across Tamworth.
