TCR IS GOING ON AIR, JUST £2,000 TO GO!

People of TCR, we know you are out there our site statistics say over 2000 of you are visiting every month.  If you have been in the background watching what we are doing then now is the time to come forwards because TCR is about to go ON AIR. As you probably noticed not so long ago our funding 'thermometer' showed we were quite a way off our £20,000 target to get on air, now it says we only need £8,000.  When we first started fundraising for TCR we had the goal of raising enough cash to sustain an entire 5 year broadcast. Now after a rethink and with time running out we have decided to just get the station on air with the bare minimum of funds, which means that we are only a short hop away from our goal.  Ironically that £2000 is to buy the transmitter of all things, but since we are getting a 5 year warranty on it, we are leaving that until last!

Test Transmission
We have had a test transmission not so long back, and we know that our coverage stretches roughly 10 miles out from the centre of Tamworth. We were heard loud and clear in Church Gresley (Hello Church Gresley!).  It was a lot better than we had expected but it proves that TCR FM is going to be a good solid community station for Tamworth and surrounding areas.  This is why we need to get on air, to give real people a real voice and to be an alternative live source of local news and events.

What Happens Now?
We need your help to get this £2,000 if you have been hiding in the background to see if we would make it this far then we need you to come out of the shadows and show your interest.  We have had a donate button on this website for a long while but no-one has used it, we ask you now to please help us make this last push if you really want to see this station on air.  If you give a donation you will be doing us a great service and if it happens to be a big one then we will feature you on this site and thank you in person.

Vacancies

'On Air' Training Course for 2009 Our first training course for 2009 has concluded. If you are interested in attending the next 8 week course which will be the last one before we go on air then please register your interest and contact us by clicking here. We have no firm dates as yet but make sure you tell us you want to be part of it now as there is often a rush of interest after the course has started. View the course contents here . At the end of the course our trainees will get the opportunity to broadcast a live or recorded show on online sister station ReachOnAir or maybe even live on FM.
