I present The Sports Zone every Saturday afternoon, 3-6pm, here at TCR fm. It's a mix of local and national sport updates and easy listening music.

We focus our coverage on sports clubs around the town including coverage of Tamworth FC, Tamworth Hockey Club, Tamworth Cricket Club, Tamworth Phoenix American football and the Tamworth Spartans Volleyball club.

The show also goes out and about, so if you've got a sporting event over the summer and you'd like me to be there, get in touch now!

About me

I caught the radio bug as a teenager and it has stayed with me for many years, working at radio stations right across the country as a news and sports journalist. I helped launch Centre FM radio here in Tamworth in 1998 and came back for a second spell in 2005 when the station re-branded.

I now do media relations/PR but really enjoy being back on the radio with TCR fm, which is a fantastic community radio station, with some great people, which the town should be proud of.

Hobbies

I enjoy the theatre, TV crime drama and red wine. I'm also a social media geek and can be found engrossed in Twitter and Facebook for long periods. You can follow me on Twitter @Mikeacthomas
